mercia_tappingMercia Tapping was educated in the UK with degrees in Psychology and Education before coming to the US in 1973. Since then, she has enjoyed a career spanning some nearly 40 years including as an assistant professor at Cornell University, Harvard Medical School trained clinical psychologist, management consultant to Fortune 100 corporations, serial entrepreneur including founding AllergyBuyersClub.com an Internet 500 company, workshop leader and inspirational speaker.

Highlights of her career include: In 2004 she received the Advanta Award for best small woman led business of the year. In 2006 her company was named one of the top 20 best places to work in Boston by the Boston Business Journal where she frequently appeared in the lists of the top women entrepreneurial companies in Massachusetts. In 2015 she sold her company in order to concentrate on recovering her health following breast cancer.

She seeks to inspire others to lead happier, healthy and more productive lives, as she has done in some form or another, her entire life. She writes and posts original daily inspirational quotes and photos for her daily blog “OnlyOneLife.com” and can be seen on “FB/Only One Life: Don’t Waste It”, which has over 42K followers. This is also the title of her book which she wrote in 2014-15 chronicling her fight to survive breast cancer and life lessons learned from her journey.

Mercia was widowed in 2011 when her husband, Herman Lowe died of a brain tumor. She is a breast cancer survivor. She lives with her two Siamese cats in Plymouth, MA.
